Madurai Tourist Attractions:
When we heed about Madurai, Meenakshi Amman Koil comes to our mind. There are not adequate words to praise this temple. Before leaving the temple, we will devote some time to visit the Museum which is installed in the mandapa pillars of miles (Ticket Rs 2, Rs 5 more for the camera) is near the gopuram. Poorly maintained, dust, without appropriate lighting, with no label information, this museum, which would need a complete renovation, is interesting for several reasons. First, an architectural point of view, we admire the great and beautiful corridor that faces the entrance, while lighting a half-darkness, with pillars decorated with mythological monsters. The first two pillars are engraved with two performances of a beautiful Ganesh standing left, with his Shakti seated on his knee, and right of Kartikeya, the brother of Ganesh sitting on a peacock, his animal-vehicle.
The second reason that leads us to advise the visit of this museum is the presence of a number of beautiful bronzes of deities, Chola period, as well as stone sculptures. Among a jumble several Ganesh, Gana Bhuta, Nagaraj, Shiva Nataraja, Nandi, Yali, and Brahma Ratha.
Finally, on the other side of the street that passes the gopuram of the East, Pudhu Mandapa was transformed employing a bazaar, among others, tailors.
